The approval was issued HE Rector Prof. Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Othman on the development of a centre for teaching science and mathematics at the university in the surprise of the month of Ramadan in 1428 e, God will be leading at the national level in the fields of research and education linked to the scientific and mathematics education, and the Centre will support and professional development, curriculum and teaching materials and teaching programmes for the development of science and mathematics education in the stages of public education and university education.
The Centre is a number of tasks, including: - develop innovative programmes to link students and teachers at all levels of educational research operations.
-- Contribute to the formation of a harmonious society of educators and specialists in the field of science and mathematics education in general and university education and higher education.
-- Positive contribution to improving the reputation of science and mathematics in Saudi Arabia, the development of national programmes, arguing for integrating research educational teaching science and mathematics.
-- Play an effective role to include a larger number of students in science and mathematics.
-- Play an effective role for the training of science and mathematics teachers in public education and university education.

مسابقات ناشر المعرفة بجامعة الملك سعود

تكوين المركز ومهامه نظرا ً لأهـمية العلوم والرياضيات في رفع مستوى التفوق في المجالات الإنتاجية والخدمية والمعيشية والاقتصادية والعسكرية، فقد شهدت العقود الأخيرة من القرن العشرين العديد من الجهود والحركات الإصلاحية التي تهدف إلى إصلاح التعليم والتركيز على تطوير وتحسين تعليم العلوم والرياضيات بخاصة. ومن هنا أصبح لازما ً على المختصين وأرباب التربية والفكر أن يعيدوا النظر في تطوير تعليم هاتين المادتين بالذات، وأن لا يترك الأمر بدون مبادرة، ولعل أفضل المواقع التي تبدأ منها الحراك الثقافي والعلمي هي الجامعات، ولهذا اقتُرح أن تبدأ جامعة الملك سعود العريقة للأخذ بهذه المبادرة والفكرة الرائدة لتطوير تعليم العلوم والرياضيات على مستوى التعليم العام والجامعي من خلال إنشاء مركز نوعي يعني بتعليمها وتطويرهـما على المدى البعيد، ليسهم في نهضة المملكة العلمية والحضارية المقبلة.

وقد صدرت موافقة معالي مدير الجامعة الأستاذ الدكتور عبدالله بن عبد الرحمن العثمان على إنشاء مركز تطوير تعليم العلوم والرياضيات في الجامعة في غرة شهر رمضان من عام 1428هـ، وسيكون بإذن الله رائدا ً على المستوى الوطني في مجالات البحوث وربطها بالتربية العلمية وتعليم الرياضيات، وسيقدم المركز الدعم والتطوير المهني والمناهج ومواد التعليم وبرامج التدريس لتطوير تعليم العلوم والرياضيات في مراحل التعليم العام والتعليم الجامعي.
ويقوم المركز بعدد من المهام منها: - تطوير برامج مبتكرة لربط الطلاب والمعلمين في جميع المستويات بعمليات البـــحث الـــتربوي.
- المساهمة في تكوين مجتمع متناغم من التربويين والمختصين في مجال العــــلوم والرياضيات في مـــراحل التعليم العـــام والتعليم الجامعي والعالي.
- المســـاهـمة الإيجــابية في تحسين سمعة العلوم والرياضيات في المملكة العربية السعودية، بتطوير بــــرامج وطــــــنية معــتبرة لــــدمج البحث التربوي بتعليم العلوم والرياضـــــيات.
- القيام بــدور فاعل لضم عدد أكبر من الطلاب في مجالات العلوم والرياضيات.
- القـــيام بدور فاعل لتدريب معلمي العلوم والرياضيات في التعليم العام و التعليم الجامعي.

دخلت دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي العربية مرحلة جديدة من المواجهة الجدية للتحديات الاقتصادية ، بعد ان تمت الموافقة في مؤتمر القمة الخليجي الاخير
في الدوحة على انشاء السوق الخليجية المشتركة لتنقل المنطقة بالعمل من مرحلة التنسيق والاعداد الى مرحلة التكامل الفعلي.
والتطور الحالي يعكس احساس ومسؤولية دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي العربية بأهمية مواجهة المرحلة المقبلة التي تأتي في اطار العيش والتلاحم مع عصر التكتلات الاقتصادية التي يشهدها العالم اخيرا.
وكانت دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي العربية قد هيأت البيئة الاقتصادية لانجاح هذه التجربة الرائدة لا سيما فيما يتعلق ببعض القرارات الاقتصادية الهامة والتي استندت الى الاتفاقية الاقتصادية بين دول المجلس التي تم التوقيع عليها في الدورة الـ22 بمدينة مسقط بسلطنة عمان في ديسمبر 2001 ، والتي وضعت أسس العلاقات الاقتصادية بين دول المجلس
